The Hub does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Your data lives on your device and your local Hub. That is the entire policy.

None. The Shribyr app collects zero personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, device identifiers, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or any other information about you or your device.
There are no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, or tracking tools embedded in the app. We don't even know how many people have installed it.
Because we collect nothing, we use nothing. There is no data to process, analyze, share, or sell.
All data generated by the Hub (your smart-home devices, automations, media, photos, files, configurations) is stored exclusively on your local device and your Hub. The app communicates directly with your Hub over your local network.
Your data never leaves your network. There are no Shribyr servers in between, no cloud sync, no backup that touches our infrastructure. Your hardware, your data, full stop.
Optional off-site backup. If you turn on our backup service, an encrypted second copy of the data you select is stored on our Hetzner server in the United States. It's off by default. You choose what gets backed up. The backup is encrypted with a key only your Hub knows, so we cannot read it.
The Shribyr app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services.
Any integrations you configure (smart-home devices, local services) run entirely on your own hardware. Shribyr Labs has no access to those integrations or their data.
If you submit your email through the form on shribyr.com or place a $50 Founders deposit, that email is stored on our self-hosted mailing list server. It is used only to send you launch updates. We never share or sell it, and you can unsubscribe any time. The $50 payment is processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. For extra privacy, you can use a virtual card from Privacy.com.
The Shribyr app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone. Given our zero-collection policy, this applies universally regardless of age.
Because no personal data is transmitted to us from the Hub itself, there is nothing for us to secure on our end. Security of your Hub and local network is in your hands. We recommend keeping your Hub firmware updated and your home network secure.
If you place an order, we collect your shipping information so we can mail your Hub to you. Everything on our side is self-hosted on our own infrastructure, so your address is never shared with a third party (no Shopify, no fulfillment middlemen, no marketing platforms).
If we ever change our data practices in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and revise the effective date. We will not reduce your privacy rights without prominent notice. Given our zero-collection model, substantive changes are unlikely.
